Anant Temple

The Anant temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.Located in small village of  Savoi-Verem in Pondataluka is the site of the only temple dedicated to Lord Anant in the state of Goa

This temple unlike other temples in Goa has only a tiled pyramid as roof and surprisingly no domes. The walls too, are only plain with plastering. There is a presence of all the seven colors of the rainbow in all the intricate wooden carvings.


Devki Krishna Temple

This Temple Located in small town of Marcel. The unique feature of this temple is that this is the only temple in India where Lord Krishna is worshipped alongside mother Devaki as Devakikrishna.


Mahalsa Temple

The temple of Mahalsa Narayani is located at the small village of Mardol, just about a km from the famous Mangueshi temple and about 22 kilometers from Panaji, the capital city.

One of the capital city's most discerning assets is the Mahalaxmi Temple. Ramnath Temple, Bandivade

Ramnath Temple is Located about 22 kilometers from the capital city of Panaji. It is said that Lord Rama, after slaying Ravana in the battle was filled with remorse at the killing. In order to seek redemption for his act, he installed a Shivalinga, on the shores and hence came to be known as Rameshwar or Ramnath.

Saptakoteshwar Temple

The Saptakoteshwar temple is one of the six great sites of temples of Lord Shiva in the Konkan area, Narve. The village of Narve is located about 35 kilometers from Panaji and can be reached via an interesting route which requires a ferry boat from the island of Divar. 

Shree Bhagavati

It is said that this Temple is of more than 500 years old. Made of black stone, two life size images of elephants in a standing position at the entrance welcomes visitors. Dussehra is celebrated with gaiety when over 25 thousand devotees assemble at the temple. Located 28 kms from Panaji in PernemTaluka. 

Shree Shantadurga (Sangodkarin) Temple, Sangolda

The temple is situated at Sangolda, in Bardez Taluka about 7 kms. from Panaji. The temple deity here is Shantadurga, one of the forms of goddess Durga. There is a celebration of Jatra is organized in the month of November / December every year and other festivals like Navratra, MahaShivratri, GaneshJayanti, besides monthly Palakhi are also celebrate here. 

TambdiSurla Temple

The most ancient temple in the whole of Goa is located at a place called TambiS urla which is approximately 65 kms from the capital city of Panaji. The temple is built in Jain style in the twelfth century. Tambdi Surla itself is in the midst of a forested area accessible via a 22 kilometers route from the main town of Valpoi in Sattari Taluka.

Hotels near Caves In Goa


Goa is really an awesome place to visit. Goa is a separate state with less population and most of the tourist attraction. Here I am providing an information about the famous Caves located in the popular areas in Goa. This caves are really nice to see. In Goa there are two famous caves named as Arvalem Caves and  Rock cut caves of Khandepar.

Arvalem Caves

These caves is also called the 'Pandavas Caves' as folk tales that Pandayas stayed here during their exile. The celebrated caves of Arvalem, found in a remote area but not far from the temple of Rudreshwar are of great archaeological interest. It is group of caves in which Cave No. 2 has a Shivalinga with a circular top with Sanskrit and Brahmin characters dating back to the 7th century. They have 5 compartments among which the middle compartment holds the 'Linga' which is till today regarded with great respect.

Rock Cut Caves of Khandepar.

These caves were encarved way back in the 12th century. These caves are found 36 kilomters from Panajim in village called Khandepar. The 4 caves are situated in close vicinity, with the 1st and the 2nd one being almost linked, the 3rd is just at a distance of one meter and the 4th is opposite the first cave. The 4th cave was probably used for meditation and prayers and has the pedestal to hold the 'Linga' in it.

The Aguada Fort

The fort was constructed in 1612 as a guard against invasions from the Dutch and the Marathas. This Fort is situated at the estuary of the river Mandovi. Aguada fort was perhaps the strongest fort to protect the Portuguese territory and it remains to the only fort that was not conquered by any invaders during the 450 year long rule of the Portuguese empire.

 The Chapora Fort

The Chapora Fort by the Portuguese people in 1617 to protect themselves from the risk of Muslim and Maratha rulers. This Fort was also known as “Shahpur” Fort.

The Cabo Palace Rama Raj Bhavan

The Cabo Palace Rama Raj Bhavan was built in 1540 AD. This palace is located in just opposite in Aguada Fort. And this Palace is become the official residence of the Governor of Goa.

The Terekhol Fort

It was used to protect the Tiracol Estuary and the sea from the Sawantwadi Rajas in 1776. Situated on the Terekhol River, it lies on the northern tip of Goa, on the hillock overlooking the Arabian Sea.

The Mormuga Fort

The Mormuga Fort is located near the internationally famed Marmagoa Harbour. It was built to protect the harbour situated near the Vasco da Gama town.

The pond used to be surrounded by a beautiful garden which was destroyed by the Portuguese during their invasion.


Jama Masjid, Goa

Located at a distance of 25 kilometers from Margao, the Jama Masjid is located at the Sanguem district in Goa. The Jama Masjid was re-built in 1959 as it had started to fall apart due to the lashes of time. The beautiful is commendable for its simple yet elegant construction. The entrance of the mosque is flanked by two beautiful and the mosque is surrounded by elegant "Minars". The top of the minars have dome shaped cabins.

It is inside this chapel that one will come across the silver casket that houses the immortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. Our Lady Of Grace Church, Margao
Situated in the heart of Margao city, this former military chapel was once named "Capela de Batalhao". Not to worry, this modern Church as it stands today looks as appealing and serene as ever. There is even a hospital named after the Church and its patron. The feast of this Church is celebrated on the 1st Sunday of Feb. However no fair accompanies this feast day.



Church of St. Francis of Assisi, Old Goa
If you fancy ancient workmanship, then you will be definitely in full praise of the 17th century pieces of religious art. There is a beautiful octagonal tabernacle in the middle of the which is richly decorated in an ornate style.

If your answer is yes, then this is one Church you need to visit at night. Well, come over and take a look and we guarantee that you will be instantly floored by this Church. As soon as evening sets in, this huge monument is transformed into a glowing specter. The best time to visit this Church would perhaps be during the Feasts. 
St. Jerome Church, Mapusa.
The main altar of this 407 year old Church is dedicated to Our Lady Of Miracles whose feast day is celebrated on 2nd Monday after Easter. Our Lady is greatly venerated by both Hindus and Christians.
