Arvalem Waterfalls
Arvalem Waterfalls located in the village of
Sanquelim. Arvalem Waterfalls is the place where the colonial government
settled its Rajput mercenaries. It is a majestic waterfall cascading from a
height of about 70 ft. to form a sizeable lake at the bottom-a tempting sight
to seasoned swimmers. The Arvalem Waterfalls are worth visiting after the
monsoon (in October) when they cascade noisily through the surrounding trees.
Sanquelim can be easily reached by bus from Mapusa. From the traveler perception there are several star and Budget hotels near Mapusa, Goa.
Dudhsagar Waterfalls
Dudhsagar Waterfalls is
located at a distance of 60 km from Panaji. The name of this waterfall evolves
from the Konkani name for the falls, Dudhsagar meaning 'sea of milk'. This is
because froth is formed due to the speedy surge of water from the majestic
heights. The Dudhsagar Falls is one of the most interesting falls the largest
and highest fall of Goa.
Kesarval Spring
Kesarval spring is famous and must visit tourist destination
for the tourist Department.The word "Kesar-val" is derived from the
Indian word for eagles that used to maintain a colony here among the
magnificent forested slopes. The spring is very famous and popular among the
locals and the bathers who come from other places, Spring consists some medicinal
properties in its waters.
The Tourism Department has designated the as a
tourist spot. The spring is at its best, during the monsoon when it tumbles
forward in a dashing cascade. Kesarval, with its rolling terraced hills,
running down to the forested countryside is a place where time stands
still.
Mayem Lake
Mayem Lake is also Known
as the Maya Lake. It is the most famous Lake situated in North Goa and
surrounded with green Hills in Bicholim Taluka. The Mayem Lake is all around
surrounded by Low as well as High Hills.
Birdlife is plentiful here, lake gives
you a great chance to admire a variety of birds, making their home on the
shores of the lake. Birds like Pheasant Tailed Jacana, Comb Duck, Herons,
Egrets, Pygmy Goose, etc can be seen
